Four Police Killed In Baghdad Suicide Bombing

Aftermath of a suicide attack in Baghdad, 8 December 2005 (epa) 29 December 2005 -- Four policemen were reported killed in Baghdad this morning after a suicide bomber blew himself up at a checkpoint close to the Interior Ministry.

Baghdad's Al-Kindi hospital said five policemen wounded in the attack were being treated for injuries.

This latest attack in the Iraqi capital comes a day after eight people were killed during an attempted breakout from a Baghdad jail.

The U.S. military said a group of prisoners attempted to escape after storming the prison armory. U.S. and Iraqi troops quelled the prison break.
