November 8, 2006 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin today made a veiled criticism of the United States for trying to extend its global reach.
He told military intelligence chiefs that the practice by some states of taking "one-sided illegitimate action" and their attempts to "unceremoniously push their positions" undermine stability.
Putin made his comments during a visit to the new Moscow headquarters of Russian Military Intelligence (GRU).
