First TU-214 Flies to Khabarovsk
President Mintimer Shaimiev on 22 May handed the keys to the first TU-214 to Dalavia officials, tatnews.ru reported. The airline is leasing the plane for eight years. In other comments, Shaimiev said Russian President Vladimir Putin must show political will and take domestic aircraft construction under his protection. He said "there are politicians and financial companies who place their own interests above those of the state."

Neurologists Congress Opens in Kazan
More than 1,000 doctors from Russia and CIS countries are in Kazan to take part in the VIII Russian-wide Neurologists Congress on 22-23 May, Tatar-inform reported.

Poultry Factory Wastes Kill Fish
Almost all fish in Chelninka have died because of the influx of waste from the poultry farm near Chally, Efir-inform reported on 22 May.

Oil, Gas Producers Congress Opens in Ufa
Some 1500 oil and gas company officials from Russia, the CIS countries and the West are taking part in the Third Congress of Oil and Gas Producers in Ufa on 22-25 May, ITAR-TASS reported. They were welcomed by republic President Murtaza Rakhimov who stressed the importance of the industry for the republic and its relations with its neighbors.

Bashkortostan Company Works in Turkmenistan, Vietnam
Vostokneftezavodmontazh has received orders for construction projects in Turkmenistan and Vietnam, Bashinform reported on 22 May.

Trade Union Leader Praises Trilateral Agreement
Valery Apokin, the Deputy head of the Bashkortostan Trade Unions Federation, said on 22 May that the agreement between the Volga Federal District authorities, employers and trade unions recently signed in Nizhny Novgorod will help improve life of the population as well as establish labor peace.
