U.S. Envoy Hails Afghan Reconstruction Effort
As the United States debates its strategy in Afghanistan following the pullout of troops in 2014, Ambassador James Dobbins, the U.S. special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan, spoke to the Senate Foreign Relations committee on July 11 about the country's progress over the past decade. Dobbins said that, judging by factors such as improved literacy and longevity, Afghanistan has seen greater progress than other countries undergoing post-conflict reconstruction. (VOA)
