Russia Threatens Retaliation For U.S. Diplomatic Expulsions

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on July 14 that Moscow could be forced to retaliate for the decision by the United States in December 2016 to expel 35 Russian diplomats and seize two Russian diplomatic compounds. She added that Moscow expected a July 17 meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and U.S. Undersecretary of State Thomas Shannon to make real progress on the issue. (Reuters)
