Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad says Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has turned against Tehran and joined the United States in spreading lies about its nuclear program.

Iran's ISNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying on July 23 that Medvedev entered a "propaganda drama" directed by Washington by saying last week that Iran is getting closer to being able to develop nuclear weapons.

Iran denies Western accusations that its nuclear program is aimed at the covert development of nuclear arms.
