Bomb Attacks Kill Seven In Iraq

Seven people were reported killed in a series of bomb attacks in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.

The apparently coordinated bombings targeted police in the town of Hit.

The attackers planted bombs in four houses belonging to local police officers. The town's anti-terror chief and several other policemen were among those killed. The dead also included women and children.

The anti-terror police chief, Walid al-Hiti, was one of the leaders of a campaign against Al-Qaeda in Anbar, which helped dramatically reduce violence in the province.
