The founder of says his team has found at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean the F-1 engines that fired Apollo 11 into space on its 1969 mission to the moon.

Billionaire American Jeff Bezos -- who founded Amazon in 1994 -- said he plans to recover one or more of the five engines so they can be put on display in museums.

Bezos said in a blog post that the engines were found nearly 4,300 meters below the surface of the Atlantic using advanced sonar.

The engines, part of the Saturn V rocket that launched the three U.S. astronauts on their moon mission, dropped into the ocean as planned minutes after liftoff.
