'Anonymous' Claims Hack Attacks On U.S. Police

The hacker group known as Anonymous claims it has hacked into some 70 law-enforcement websites in the United States.

The loose-knit international hacking collective posted a cache of data to the Internet, including e-mails stolen from officers, credit-card numbers, and other sensitive information.

Anonymous has increasingly been targeted by law enforcement in the United States and elsewhere following high-profile data thefts and cyberattacks.

Anonymous said the most recent attack was retaliation for the arrest of suspected members accused of hacking into the CIA, British crime agency SOCA, and Sony.
