Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will arrive on a working visit to Washington on April 30, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Ani Badalian said on April 29. Mirzoyan plans to hold a new round of discussions on the agreement on the regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Badalian said. Azerbaijan did not immediately confirm the meeting. Tensions have risen as Azerbaijan set up a new checkpoint on the road to the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh in the Lachin Corridor, a move that Armenia called a gross violation of a 2020 cease-fire.
