Moscow police say two dozen demonstrators have been detained in the latest confrontation between the authorities and opposition activists.

Moscow police spokesman Arkady Bashirov said 24 people were detained.

It was not immediately clear if any would be charged; many of the scores arrested in previous days were released after being held for a few hours.

Today's arrests mark the fourth straight day of detentions of demonstrators protesting the arrest of Boris Nemtsov, one of the opposition's most prominent figures.

He is serving 15 days in jail after being arrested at a December 31 rally.
