Beer 'n' Blues, As Czechs Bid Fond Farewell To U.S. Army
Czechs have laid on a farewell concert in honor of the U.S. Army, capping three days of events as the 2nd Cavalry Regiment made its way across the country on the way back to base in Germany. The unit had been deployed for six months of exercises with Polish and Baltic allies, and made its way back in a convoy aimed at demonstrating U.S. support for Eastern European NATO members amid the Ukraine crisis. Prior to the convoy’s arrival, there had been talk of anti-American protests – but instead the U.S. troops were warmly welcomed. (RFE/RL)
