July 8, 2006 -- An Iranian human rights group headed by Nobel Peace laureate Shirin Ebadi today called for the "unconditional" release of all political prisoners.
The Defenders of Human Rights Center made the call to mark the anniversary of student unrest in Tehran in 1999.
Iranian officials deny that anyone is being held on political charges.
