November 25, 2006 -- The leaders of Turkey and Jordan today warned that partitioning Iraq would drive sectarian violence there to new levels and plunge the entire region into chaos.
Speaking at a news conference in Amman, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Jordanian counterpart Marouf Bakheet said such a situation would be unacceptable.
Erdogan said he would discuss Iraq with U.S. President George W. Bush at a NATO summit in Latvia next week.
