Ukrainian authorities announced that Russian aerial attacks had killed at least nine people in the Dnipropetrovsk region early on April 19. In the regional center, Dnipro, a five-story residential building in the downtown area caught fire after it was hit by fragments from a downed Russian missile.
On January 7, rescuers found a dead child in the rubble of a family house that was hit by a missile in Rivne, eastern Ukraine. As RFE/RL filmed, the rescuers were searching for five more missing people, including two children. The village of Rivne lies just northeast of the city of Pokrovsk.
