The head of the European Central Bank (ECB) has said that the worst of the eurozone's debt crisis is over.

ECB President Mario Draghi said "the situation has stabilized," although "risks" remain, in an interview with the German daily "Bild" on March 22.

Draghi said key indicators including inflation, account balances and budget deficits "are all better than, say, in the United States."

He added that investor confidence in Europe is returning and warned that now it is up to European governments to "make the eurozone permanently immune to crisis."
