South Koreans Protest Against THAAD Missiles
People in the South Korean town of Seongju protested on September 7 against the deployment of the U.S.-made Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) antimissile system, designed to protect against mounting threats from North Korea. Protesters scuffled with the police as they attempted to block the road where military vehicles were carrying the antimissile system to a base in Seongju. (Reuters)
