Uzbekistan Bars NATO Officials

A German military transport plane lands in Uzbekistan (file photo) (RFE/RL) May 11, 2006 -- British, Lithuanian, and U.S. members of a NATO delegation have scrapped a planned three-day visit to Afghanistan.

A Lithuanian lawmaker, Rasa Jukneviciene, said the reason was that Uzbek authorities had refused the delegates permission to land in Uzbekistan for a stopover.
