Taliban May Change Tactics, ISAF Says

British troops on the streets of Kabul (file photo) (epa) September 20, 2006 ---A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Mark Laity, today said that the coalition commanders believe the Taliban may change its tactics to avoid direct fighting in the field.

His comments follow a ground operation in southern Afghanistan deemed as successful by the international coalition.


However, Laity underlined that the Taliban remain a serious security threat.


The ISAF also said that it killed up to 16 Taliban in clashes on September 19.
