The Afghan National Army conducting an exercise near Kabul on August 12 (epa) August 14, 2006 -- Police and militants clashed in southern Afghanistan today, leaving 11 suspected Taliban and one police officer dead.
Two police were wounded.
Three suspected Taliban were arrested following the fight in a mountainous area of Kajaki district in southern Helmand Province.
Police say they recovered 12 AK-47 assault rifles, six rocket-propelled grenades, and two machine guns.
