A teenage girl in Pakistan has reportedly survived after she was raped and buried alive.
Indian media quoted Siddique Mughal, a resident of the Toba Tek Singh district in Pakistan's Punjab Province, as saying his 13-year-old daughter was abducted and raped by two men while she was on her way to Koran lessons.
He said his daughter was able to dig herself out of a shallow roadside grave after she had been left for dead by her attackers.
Mughal reported the incident to the police, who allegedly refused to cooperate or launch an investigation.
But a court in Lahore took notice of the incident on October 26 and ordered a judge to look into the matter.
Police were instructed to investigate and submit a report to the court without delay.
