Second Iraqi Journalist Slain In A Week

(RFE/RL) March 11, 2006 -- An Iraqi television station reports that gunmen today shot dead one of its senior editors.

Al-Iraqiya TV says Amjad Hameed had just left his house in central Baghdad when a car blocked his way and gunmen shot him in the head. Hameed's driver was wounded in the attack.

Hameed is the second Iraqi journalist to be killed in a week. Munsuf Abdullah al-Khaldi, a presenter on Baghdad Television, was shot dead in the Iraqi capital on March 7.
